I’ve recently started making websites using WordPress. I first heard about it in various forums and with Hostgator it comes as an easy install. Here is what I’ve been doing:

1. Ebiz idea
2. Purchase domain name at godaddy.com
3. Add sub-domain on my main hostgator.com account
4. Route the domain pointers from godaddy to hostgator
5. Using the cpanel admin with hostgator, go to fantastico
6. Once in fantastico, select WordPress

Just answer a few install questions and the script will install and configure everything for you. Congrats, you have a blog!

The install will give you the default template but I doubt you’ll be satisfied with that. Here is where you’ll need to learn some CSS. The WordPress admin panel allows you to modify your theme files, but be sure to back them up before starting.

Another great thing about using WordPress is the community support. There are 100′s of themes for you to use and they are a snap to install. Just download the theme, upload it to your web hosting account, and then it’s available in the admin panel!

If you need a quick website solution, definitely consider using WordPress.
