Adwords and Big Name Affiliates

Since optimizing my Adwords ad for product X, my conversion rate has dramatically increased. Take heed that your ad copy is important in drawing customers that are willing to buy, not just look.

Another happy benefit is that using a big name affiliate like Amazon, Buy.com, Walmart, etc., is that people will continue to shop and buy other products. So far I have seen the following with Amazon:

1. Someone upgraded and purchased a more expensive product
2. Someone purchased multiple DVDs and books
3. Someone downgraded and purchased a lesser model (but hey, I still got the sale)
4. Someone purchased kitchenware!

I think you’re getting the point. Get customers to a big named affiliate with a diverse array of products and you will reap the rewards.

Adwords Affiliate Update

Logged my first sale today. I set up an Adwords campaign with direct affiliate linking a few days ago and have tested out a few products. The one product that my campaign places best allows me a 3.6 average position for various keywords.

Of the 20 clicks so far, I have one sale for a healthy 5% conversion (I’m shooting for 2% or better). This product is through Amazon and is paying at 6.5% commission. Overall, not bad. What I don’t know is which keyword led to the sale.

I am trying different marketing approaches each day but so far the click rate remains steady. For ease

Commission Junction

I’m still pursuing some of my original ideas regarding affiliate marketing and sales. Just this weekend I signed up for Commission Junction and took a look around. I’m quite impressed with the amount of programs available to partner with (each offering various percentages of sales).

Reading through the various affiliates, many ebiz ideas popped into my head. You could easily pick one product, search out a niche, find the niche search terms, and then make a site. Just consider what you could do with CJ affiliate Home Depot?

I’m about 50% done now on my first affiliate site. I fully expect to be 100% live this weekend. I’m excited to see how things work out.
