Site Flipping

Put this in the “why didn’t I think of that” category. I’ve read a lot about people that flip houses but somehow never made the leap to websites. Today I read an article on Site Flipping and thought it’s a pretty good idea.

The gist is that you either buy or create for cheap a website and then resell that website for a profit. The concept is easy; the success will be in the execution.

Looking at eBay sales, established sites typically are selling at 1000 – 3000 dollars. It’s hard to define what “established” means but if it’s getting traffic and some advertising revenue, you’re in good shape.

New sites appear to go for less than 300 bucks. If you’re efficient and can generate a good looking site with content for less than 100 dollars, you might be able to flip for a profit. Keep looking around for great ideas; the next one might be staring you right in the face.

Increasing Traffic

I think it’s safe to say that waiting for Google to rank your site well to get traffic is an unpleasant experience. While Google is the biggest dog in the search engine yard currently, there are other creative ways to get traffic to your site.

A recent example of traffic creativity comes from a guy named “Calguy” on Digital Point. He recently started a site called CelebSlam which is getting over 3000 uniques a day.

His secret?

  1. Post useful comments on high traffic sites/blogs in a similar genre
  2. Submit your articles to Digg, Fark, etc.

Visitors from Around the World

The Internet brings the world together. Here is a recent shot of some of the traffic that comes here to the Ebiz world.

It’s great to have you and I hope you’re finding the site helpful on your ebusiness journey.
